White-throated sparrow spotted

 

At Westmoreland, we've banded our first white-throated sparrow of the fall. These birds migrate from Canada to overwinter in Westchester. Their diet changes with the seasons, relying on seeds in winter and insects and berries in spring and summer. To attract them to your backyard this winter, provide black oil seed or millet.
