River Otters
Something furry with webbed feet and a bewhiskered snout weaseled its way through Westmoreland last week. Yep, you guessed it, it's a river otter!
As seen above, otters are sometimes found in groups, collectively called "rafts," that usually consist of a mother and her young. In summer, momma otter will teach her ferocious young to swim and hunt, sometimes releasing her caught prey beside them so they can practice their hunting techniques.
