Cooper's Hawk Sighting
A juvenile Cooper's Hawk was observed during Monday's morning snow. This species typically inhabits forests but often visits bird feeding stations, primarily hunting medium-sized birds such as starlings, robins, pigeons, and jays.

Why would a hawk be sitting in the middle of a road, not moving, as a car approaches within 5 feet, and then wait to fly away to land on a tree? Is there something wrong with its slow response to a car?
