Eastern Coyote

 

Spotted on our game camera, this Eastern Coyote was likely hunting to provide for a den full of pups. Litters, usually anywhere from 4-12 pups, are birthed in late April to May. Born blind, these crepuscular canines depend heavily upon parents for both nutrition and protection until weeks 5-7 when they leave the den.
