Snowy Snack

Winter is a great time to study animal tracks. In this photo by Steve Ricker, you can see where a raptor, likely an owl, landed, leaving marks of its feet, wings, and tail feathers in the snow. This landing likely happened due to the movement of a mammal and a soon-to-be meal under the surface of the snow.
